Use of the resin BASF Ultracur3D ST 80 B

Ultracur3D ST 80B resin developed by Forward AM (BASF), is a urethane photosensitive resin developed for DLP/LCD and MSLA technologies.

The ST series is the strongest and most robust, suitable for the most demanding applications requiring rigidity, impact resistance and durability. ST 80 B is the most affordable resin in the ST range.

Recommended for its precision, stability and attractive matt black appearance. It is impact-resistant but less rigid than the standard version. It is also slightly more sensitive to temperature.

Ultracur3D ST 80 B offers a fine finish. It is specially designed for highly detailed printing and offers long-term UV stability.

Our recommendations for use with ST80B resin

Ultracur3D photoreactive resins are very sensitive to light, so they should be protected from UV light as soon as they are exposed to it. Store them away from light and humidity. It's also important to wear gloves when handling the resin.

Shake your resin well before use and leave it to stand for a few moments after being poured into the tray, just long enough for the bubbles to disappear. To determine the best exposure time for your slice and your 3D printer, don't hesitate to consult our community.

Don't forget to clean your part in alcohol such as IPA or a suitable BASF Cleaner solution in order to remove the resin that is still liquid and maintain a uniform appearance. The final step in manufacturing your part is to put it in a UV polymerisation chamber to get the best performance (around 20 minutes depending on size and thickness).
