Ultracur3D EL 4000 resins developed by manufacturer BASF are photo-reactive urethane resins designed for DLP/LCD and MSLA technology.
The EL series is the most flexible and durable over time, suitable for applications requiring high performance. Ultracur3D® EL 4000 from Forward AM is a highly versatile reactive urethane photopolymer for highly elastic applications, offering a medium hardness (Shore 90A). It provides an optimal combination of properties: high torsional strength, good elongation at break, and a high rebound over time.
Versatility: Flexible and elastic up to 172%, yet it maintains a high hardness that meets the most technical application needs. It offers a unique balance of strength, elongation, and elastic recovery.
Elasticity: Urethane resins offer precision and excellent stability, and this highly elastic resin maintains that reputation. It provides a high rebound rate but slightly less durable compression resilience.
Hardness: Its Shore hardness of 90A is quite rare for a flexible resin, especially when combined with such a high level of elasticity.
Ultracur3D resins are particularly sensitive to UV light. Be sure to protect them from exposure once opened. It is always recommended to wear gloves during handling.
Shake your resin bottle before use and let it settle briefly in the printing vat before starting. To determine the optimal exposure time for your 3D printer model and its technology, feel free to consult our guides and community.
The final step is cleaning your part in alcohol like IPA or with an adapted solution like BASF Cleaner, followed by a quick cure in a UV chamber to finalize the print and achieve the best performance (around 20 minutes depending on dimensions and thickness).
