Use of BASF Ultracur3D EL 150 resin
The Ultracur3D EL 150 resins developed by the manufacturer BASF are photo reactive urethane resins developed for DLP/LCD and MSLA technology.
The EL series is the most flexible and durable, suitable for applications requiring high performance. Ultracur3D® EL 150 from Forward AM is a highly versatile photoreactive urethane polymer for highly elastic applications that offers medium hardness(Shore 80A). It offers an optimum combination of performance: high torsional strength, good elongation at break and high long-term rebound.
EL150 resin: key strengths
Versatility: Soft, flexible and elastic up to 150%, it also has superior hardness, making it ideal for the most technical applications. It develops unique performances such as a rare compromise between strength, elongation and springback.
Elasticity: Urethane resins offer precision and excellent stability, and this remains true of this highly elastic resin. A high rebound rate but less durable compression resilience.
Hardness: Its shore hardness of 80A is quite rare for a flexible resin, especially when combined with this high level of elasticity.
Our recommendations for use with EL150 resin
Ultracur3D resins are particularly sensitive to UV. Be sure to protect them from light as soon as they have been opened. It is also always advisable to wear gloves when handling them.
Shake your bottle of resin before use and leave it in the print tray for a few moments before use. To determine the best exposure time for your model of 3D printer and its technology, don't hesitate to consult our guides and our community.
The last stage in the manufacturing process is to clean your part in alcohol such as IPA or a suitable BASF Cleaner solution, followed by a quick run in a UV chamber to stabilise your print for good and get the best performance from your printed part (around 20 minutes depending on size and thickness).
