Use of Polymide PA12-CF

The Polymide PA12-CF is a 3D filament developed by the manufacturer Polymaker. Featuring "Warp Free" technology, this carbon fibre-reinforced nylon ensures high mechanical and thermal performance. Thanks to its low sensitivity to humidity, it will retain its properties over time.

The PA12-CF filament is a technical composite material suitable for professional and industrial applications. Excellent for the manufacture of tools and parts subject to high stresses.

PA12-CF key strengths

Rigidity: PA12-CF is a polyamide filament (PA12) filament reinforced with carbon fibre, which considerably increases its rigidity, offering an impressive bending strength of 110 MPa.

Thermal resistance: this base composite material PA12 is naturally resistant to high temperatures >100°C. This carbon version retains this characteristic, with a bending temperature under load of 105°C.

Low moisture sensitivity: PA12 is a polyamide that has the advantage of absorbing very little moisture compared with standard nylon. This PA12-CF filament also has good chemical resistance.

Our recommendations for use with PA12-CF

The PA12-CF filament is compatible with semi-professional and professional bowden and direct drive 3D printers.

We recommend a high extrusion temperature for this filament. Between 260 and 300°C depending on your speed, nozzle and layer thickness settings. The use of a heating plate between 25 and 50°C and a suitable adhesion solution are also necessary.
