Standard PLA tend to reach their limits when printing at high speeds. PLA PolySonic™ filament from Polymaker is specially designed to meet the demands of high-speed printing. This special material features ultra-fast extrusion rates and excellent layer adhesion without compromising quality or performance.

High-speed highlights with Polysonic PLA Red 1.75mm

A material is considered "High Speed" if it meets the following 3 criteria at a set print temperature:

Fluidity: It can extrude consistently at 24mm3/s on a popular extrusion system (equivalent to 300mm/s at a layer height of 0.2mm with a 0.4mm nozzle).

Formability: At 24mm3/s, it maintains similar surface quality, overhangs and bridges to those printed at lower speeds.

Functionality: At 24mm3/s, it retains at least 80% of its overall mechanical properties when printed at lower speeds (principally inter-layer adhesion, tensile strength and impact resistance).

Our recommendations for use with PLA Polysonic

PLA Polysonic is a filament compatible with all open 3D printers equipped with extrusion in 1.75mm.

We recommend that you set your printer to an extrusion temperature of between 190 and 230°C in order to print PLA Polysonic under optimum conditions. A print speed of between 50 and 300mm/s and the use of a platen with a heating option of up to 60°C are also recommended.
