The Polymaker Fiberon™ PET-CF17 filament is a material reinforced with 17% carbon fibers, designed to offer remarkable mechanical strength while maintaining excellent lightness. This filament is particularly suitable for prototyping applications and manufacturing functional parts under challenging thermal conditions.

The carbon fibers in this filament increase its rigidity and durability while minimizing deformation during printing. The combination of PET and carbon fibers ensures increased stability, even under heavy loads. The Fiberon™ PET-CF17 is an ideal solution for projects requiring parts that are both lightweight and strong.

Features of Polymaker Fiberon™ PET-CF17

  • 17% Carbon Fibers: Reinforce the filament for increased rigidity and strength without adding weight to the parts.
  • Good Thermal Resistance: This filament can withstand high temperatures (up to 147.5°C), making it suitable for thermally demanding environments.
  • No Moisture Issues: Very low moisture absorption rate of the PET material.
  • Lightweight: The filament is designed to combine rigidity and lightness, making it particularly suitable for dynamic applications.

Printing Tips

  • Extrusion Temperature: 270-300°C for uniform material melting.
  • Bed Temperature: 70-80°C to ensure a good first layer and prevent warping.
  • Recommended Nozzle: Use a hardened steel or ruby nozzle to prevent nozzle wear due to carbon fibers. Metal hotend required for printing at over 270°C.
  • Printing Speed: Up to 300 mm/s.
  • Storage: Store the filament in a dry environment. If the environment is humid, dry the filament before use (100°C for 10 hours in a conventional oven or 18 hours at level 3 with the PolyDryer).
  • Post-Processing: Annealing at 120°C for 10 hours to reinforce the mechanical properties of the parts. If the parts have large overhangs or thin sections, anneal at 100°C for 14 hours.
