Use of ABS ESD filament Nanovia
The filament Nanovia ABS ESD filament is a base material ABS enriched with conductive carbon black, giving it this characteristic ESD (ElecroStatic Discharge). This composite filament offers excellent printing characteristics with limited shrinkage and good platen adhesion. The ESD version ofABS is used in applications requiring good protection against electrostatic shock. Certain electronic parts or electrical connectors can be manufactured with this filament.
The other advantage of this ABS ESD filament is that it is less sensitive to delamination than a standard ABS and is just as resistant mechanically and thermally.
ABS ESD Nanovia key features
Protection from electrostatic discharges: The ABS ESD filament is recognised for its volume resistivity properties, which are suitable for sensitive environments.
Mechanical resistance: ABS filament is renowned for its good general resistance, and this remains true for this ESD version.
Good temperature resistance: With a glass transition temperature of 100°C, this ABS ESD filament is suitable for demanding environments.
Our recommendations for use withABS ESD
This ABS base material requires the same care as a traditional ABS. However, it is less sensitive to delamination, which is the main problem when printingABS without a heated enclosure.
We recommend using a suitable adhesive, a closed enclosure, a 90°C temperature plateau and a steel nozzle to get the full performance from this ABS carbon composite.
AsABS and the aramid fibres are UV-sensitive, plan to have them painted for outdoor use.
