Resins for 3D printers
3D resins for SLA and DLP 3D printers are liquid photopolymers that cure under UV light. These materials are used in 3D printing SLA or DLP and can be used to produce parts with a high level of detail and a smooth surface finish. Laser-cured liquid photosensitive resin (SLA) or light (LED or LCD) from the 3D printer layer by layer to produce a solid model.
Classified with intelligent filters, the choice of your 3D resin is simplified to guide you towards the material best suited to your budget and your needs.
From standard resins with different colours to water-washable resins and highly technical resins such as those that simulate the mechanical properties ofABS, our guide will help you make your choice.
How do I choose my resin?
The choice of your 3D resin depends on a number of criteria, in particular your needs and the mechanical properties you require.
For visual prototyping, a standard resin will be sufficient whether it is intended for your LCD or SLA printer. This last parameter is crucial. Resins dedicated to SLA printers are not, or only to a very limited extent, compatible with LCD printers, and vice versa. On the other hand, most LCD resins are compatible with all printers using this same technology, which in principle are printers open to third-party resins/brands and use a LCD screen that cures the resin between 215 and 405nm.
Depending on your final application, the 3D printing material you choose must meet various needs, constraints and requirements: mechanical strength, chemical resistance, temperature resistance, aesthetic appearance, flexibility, ease of use, etc. are all criteria to be taken into consideration.
