Resins 3D for dental 3D printing
The dental sector and the use of 3D printing, whether in prosthetic laboratories, dental offices, or orthodontic practices, has experienced a rapid rise.
Dental resins are light-cured resins designed to reliably and affordably print models, dies, crowns, and surgical guides.
Used on LCD/DLP as well as SLA printers, these resins are light-sensitive at wavelengths between 220 and 415nm.
The three most common applications in prosthetic laboratories are the printing of dental crowns and bridges. For LCD printer users, Forshape Model resin is the ideal resin with a precision of over +50μm.
Regarding use in a dental office, the direct printing of surgical guides from the office is a practice that is increasingly observed. For such medical devices, it is essential that the resin be biocompatible for safe intraoral use.
Lastly, in orthodontics, the use of transparent aligners/gutters for treatment in addition to or as a total substitute for brackets has paved the way for printing models that will serve as a base for subsequent thermoforming. Forshape Ortho resin is ideal for mass production of orthodontic models with a precision of at least +100μm.
