Use of BASF Ultracur3D FL60 resin
The resins developed by the manufacturer BASF are photosensitive resins developed to run on 3D printers of the DLP/LCD, MSLA resin type.
The FL series is the manufacturer's flexible resin range, suitable for applications requiring flexibility and durability.
Ultracur3D FL60 from Forward AM is a well-balanced reactive urethane photopolymer for flexible applications that offers exceptional flexibility with high tear resistance. It offers low hardness (Shore 60A), a pleasant feel, while maintaining long-term transparency without yellowing.
FL60 resin: key strengths
Low hardness: BASF 's Ultracur3D FL60 resin is flexible and resistant, with a Shore hardness of 60A and an elongation rate of 70%, giving it excellent functional properties.
Shape retention: One of the most interesting features of this FL60 resin is its compression set of just 1%. Able to regain its shape, it also has a tendency to absorb energy rather than repel it: 9% rebound.
Transparent, non-yellowing resin: FL60 resin is translucent and, unlike traditional clear resin, has no tendency to yellow after exposure to UV light. This non-reaction to UV also guarantees good stability over time, both mechanically and visually.
Our recommendations for use with FL60 resin
Ultracur3D FL60 resins are photo-reactive and therefore sensitive to UV. They must be protected from light as soon as they are opened. It is also advisable to wear gloves when handling the resin.
Shake your bottle of resin well before use and allow any bubbles to disappear from your resin tray before printing. To find out which exposure parameters are best suited to your 3D printer for this FL60 resin, don't hesitate to consult our dedicated articles on the community.
After cleaning with alcohol or water and drying for a few moments, don't forget to finish the post-processing by passing through a UV chamber in order to obtain the advertised performance (around 20 minutes depending on size and thickness).
