Nylon Food Industry from Nanovia
The Nanovia PA Food Industry (FI) filament is a raw material (Nylon) for 3D printing which incorporates a metallic filler. The purpose of this filler is to trigger metal detectors in food industry production lines, thus preventing contamination of finished products.
The polyamide (PA) that makes up this material is resistant to temperatures in excess of 100°C and can be easily cleaned with boiling water. It also has excellent chemical resistance to cleaning agents.
These characteristics make it an ideal choice for a variety of applications, such as pliers, blowers, spatulas, jigs, gears, adapters and much more.
Nanovia PA FI can be printed without the need for a closed enclosure, and it exhibits very little deformation during the 3D printing process. What's more, it is compatible with the majority of 3D printers on the market.
Advantages and strengths of this material
Detection by metal detectors in industrial tunnels.
Complies with regulations (EU) No 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR §§ 178.3297 concerning plastic materials intended for contact with food.
Can be printed without a closed enclosure and has satisfactory chemical resistance.
Our recommendations for use with Nanovia PA FI filament
The Nanovia PA Food Industry filament has an extrusion temperature ideally between 265 and 290°. A heating plate at 70°C to 80°C is recommended.
Nylon is sensitive to humidity, so we recommend that you store your spool in a dry place with a desiccant. If it has been exposed to humidity or open air, please steam your filament at 60°C for 4 hours or more.
Finally, the use of a printer with an air extraction or filtered enclosure is recommended.
