PETG / CPE - HT
PETG filaments usually have a thermal resistance of around 75°C, so it is not possible to use these materials for applications such as steaming, sterilisation or thermoforming. This is why leading manufacturers have developed PETG or, more generally, high-temperature Co polyester (CPE). This selection of PETG HT filaments generally offers not only resistance to temperatures close to 100°C but also improved mechanical strength. However, it does not lose its excellent chemical resistance, making it a technical, efficient and not overly complex 3D printing material.
These characteristics make it possible to use 3D filaments for applications such as thermoforming or even sterilisation in the medical field.
These filaments, such as CPE+ from Ultimaker or HT from Colorfabb, are more resistant to temperature and offer good mechanical and chemical properties. For their printing, they require high extrusion temperatures (> 260°C) and plateau adhesion (> 100°C). The use of professional 3d printers is recommended and the addition of a hooding system (such as ums3) is recommended.
Not very sensitive to warping, these improved PETG coils offer excellent dimensional accuracy and a strong interlayer bond. Ultimately, this material is one of the most impact-resistant of the various 3D printing filaments FDM. Easier to use than ABS or Polycarbonate filaments, these PETG High Temperature filaments represent an excellent compromise and will have what it takes to rival or even surpass them. Try these materials for your demanding or technical applications.
Why choose High Temperature CPE filament?
Filaments in this Copolyester family are generally limited by their average thermal resistance and moderate bending strength. Interesting for their chemical resistance, translucent PETG / CPE HT filaments retain these properties while increasing the others.
If your projects require technical skills, and the use of Polycarbonate or ABS filaments is not suitable (chemical resistance too low or printing too complex) or if you want to avoid having to deal with the latter two, choosing these high-performance and little-known 3d printing filaments is an excellent idea.
